Basic Rules & Guidelines Empty Basic Rules & Guidelines

This is a list of basic rules and guidelines that everyone must follow. Failure to do so may result in a warning or permanent ban. You have been warned.

    Basic Rules:

    - This site is based off of the UK-based TV series Skins. As such, swearing, sexual, drug, and alcohol references are permitted in moderation. Don't curse in every sentence, as that just gets annoying. The occasional blip is okay now and again.

    - Links to explicit or pornographic sites are prohibited, and will result in an immediate ban.

    - No spamming. Doing so will result in a warning. Repeated offenses will result in a ban.

    - Harassing, abusing, or personally attacking other members is strictly prohibited. Doing so will result in either a warning or an automatic ban depending on the severity of the situation.

    - Staff members (moderators and admins) have the final say in a decision. Arguing with us is both pointless and annoying, and we will ban you if it becomes too excessive. If something truly bothers you about this site or how things on here are progressing, PM one of us and voice your grievances in a mature and civilized manner.

    - Don't post in all caps. It attracts unnecessary attention, and it insinuates that you're shouting at us. If you persist posting in all caps even after we remind you not to, it will be treated as spamming, and may warrant a warning. Repeated offenses may even result in a ban.

    Roleplaying rules:

    - You may not start posting in character or in any of the in character forums until your character has been approved by a staff member. Failing to comply with this will result in your posts being deleted and warning being issued.

    - You may only have up to three characters at one time. In addition, you may not have multiple characters on one account.

    - If you wish to delete one of your characters, you must have a legitimate reason for doing so. "I don't like him/her anymore" won't cut it.

    - Your character may participate in as many threads as you wish, but don't overload yourself.

    - The minimum word count for a legitimate roleplay post on this site is 200 words. Use Microsoft Word or a similar word counting program if you have trouble counting the words on your own.

    - Taking control of someone else's character is forbidden. You may only control your own characters.

    - Respect others' characters. Don't force them to RP something they're uncomfortable with.

    - As with the above, sexual references are permitted as long as long as they are not too excessive. The same goes for swearing, drugs, and alcohol. However, the actual act of having sex in character is forbidden.

    - Play your character correctly. You're not a Marvel superhero. You will have ups and downs just like any other ordinary human being. Also, roleplay according to your character's educational experience and background. Someone who lacks adequate schooling isn't going to be reciting Moliere.

    - Stay active. If you have not posted in an RP (not just posting OoC) after two weeks, we will issue a strike, which is essentially a reminder to post plus a small warning. If three weeks pass without a post, we will issue a more specific warning. If you mount up one month of inactivity , your character will be deleted, and you will have to start all over again. However, if you log on within a month, we will either contact you via IM, email, or PM on here and try to work something out.

    - You may arrange for an extension on our activity clause if you absolutely have to. Only legitimate reasons will be accepted (i.e. computer trouble, vacations, family emergencies, etc.)

And now, for the golden rule: Have fun!

If you have any questions or concerns, PM myself or another staff member. We'll answer you to the best of our abilities.
